The 1944 penny has another error. For some reason the Denver mintmark (D) got stamped over the San Francisco mintmark (S). I have no idea how that is even possible, but it happened. If you find this coin you can get $100 for a certified VF-20 and a MS-63 or better coin will get you anywhere from $450-$700. It isn’t clear how many of these coins were created with errors, but this year saw more than 430 million (D) pennies struck.
