1914 Penny

For whatever reason, this year didn’t have the V.D.B. on the shoulder and if you do find a V.D.B. it is almost certainly an altered date or mintmark. Expect to get .85 cents to $460. The one exception is the 1914 (D). This mintmark will increase the value for the 1914 penny. You can get $145 for a G-4 certified penny and $3,000 for a certified MS-63. Any 1914 (D) AU-50 or better will still get you into the $1,000 range. This is the only year between 1910 and 1914 where the value of the coin is higher with the (D) mintmark than the PF-63 non-mintmark version.
